 This coffee comes from small coffee gardens of Camitoran, a village in the Solok District of Western Sumatra. Coffee is grown here alongside more traditional rice and vegetables at between 1200-1550 masl. The varietals planted are Lini-s and Caturra which are processed though the Natural process.

Located 7 hours drive hours from the city of Padang in the Solok District of West Sumatra this coffee comes from small coffee gardens (0.25ha – 2Ha) which sit in the shadow of the beautiful Kerinci Volcano on the edge of the Kerinci National Park home to the endangered Sumatran Tiger.

The people who inhabit this region are originally from the island of Java and migrated to this region tin the 1960’s as part of a Government program looking to spread people to available land to farm. There are large Government tea plantations that dominate the landscape and it is only recently that coffee over the past seven years that coffee has been grown here alongside more traditional rice and vegetables. The climate in this area between 1200 - 1550 masl is perfect for growing coffee. The varietals planted are Lini-s and Caturra.

Camitoran is a village where there are about 250 small holder farmers spread over 300 Ha of land who deliver coffees to a collector and processor named Irwandi who takes care of the selection and drying for the cherry.

The coffee dries slowly in this region due to the wet humid climate and Irwandi has raised beds for drying his natural coffees inside a parabolic drier. The drying porcess can take between 20 - 30 days depending on how the climate is.
